This worksheet automatically records the values of key metrics as each phase/gate is completed.  The overall financial metrics section can be adjusted to include the metrics that are most important to your company.

The top table tracks project timing.  The second table tracks overall financial metrics.  The lower table(s) track changes to the financial data for individual products or financial contributors.

The comments fields can be used as a status reporting mechanism - the project manager would periodically enter comments describing the timing and financial health of the project. A consolidated metrics dashboard report can be run in the management report section of the tool - this report extracts the Metrics Dashboard worksheet for each project in the portfolio showing the values of metrics plus the project manager's comments.
