The resource management option adds tools at the project level for
capturing resource demands by skill set and by team member name.
It also adds a central
resource pool file as
well as
resource analysis tools.
At the project level, this option adds a resource type table to the
Budget & Schedule worksheet and the
Resource Allocation worksheet. The
resource demand data entered in these tools allows PD-Trak to 1) automatically calculate the cost of assigned resources
as part of the project budget and 2) to extract the resource demand data
which can be used for performing resource analysis. This important feature helps companies a) avoid overloading
the organization with too many projects and b) allows functional
managers to predict resources shortages so that steps can be taken to
minimize or avoid the impact.
