Creating an Effective Gate Review Process
Presented by: Kenneth Crow, President, DRM Associates & Principal,
PD-Trak Solutions
Gate reviews are an important element of the management process
for product development. Gate reviews insure that (1) a valid
business case for the development project exists, (2) project risks
have been adequately addressed, (3) continued investment in the
product development or R&D project is warranted, (4) and that the
project has a high priority relative to other project portfolio
opportunities. This presentation will address the elements of an
effective gate review process, a method for developing the business
case for a product development project, criteria for gate reviews,
and the decisions to create an effective gate review process.
