PD-Trak™ Solutions offers the following training to support implementation and use of PD-Trak.

PD-Trak™ Basics
This four-hour session introduces PD-Trak teaches team members to access and use the key functions of PD-Trak™ project files.

PD-Trak™ - Project Files
This eight- to twelve-hour session trains project manager, team leaders and key personnel how to use PD-Trak™ to plan, organize and manage new product development projects. It addresses how to setup and propose a new project in PD-Trak™ and how to organize the Project File and its various documents. It also covers how to access and use the various PD-Trak™ tools and documents.

PD-Trak™ - Management Functions
This eight-hour session is intended for executive management and functional management involved with gate reviews, performance monitoring, portfolio management, and pipeline/resource management.

PD-Trak™ - Project Administrators
This eight-hour session teaches the PD-Trak administrator(s) how to configure and setup PD-Trak, how to manage passwords and access privelages, how to manage the projects in the Master Project Schedule, and how to perform various other ancillary functions.

Project Management with PD-Trak™ and MS Project®
This three-day, computer-based workshop teaches project management principles in the context of new product development. Working together in small cross functional groups, attendees start by selecting a new product idea that is developed into a product development project using PD-Trak. The instructor leads the groups through the development of a project plan from initial project charter through the completion of the project, illustrating the use of the PD-Trak project level tools, with a practical discussion based format. The workshop covers the use of MS Project for task planning and tracking and covers the integration features between the various project level PD-Trak tools and MS Project.

Gate Review Workshop
This six-hour workshop is intended for executive management involved with performing gate reviews. It covers the concepts of gate reviews, and, through a series of discussions, is used to define the specific gate review process and policies to be used by the company.

Portfolio Management Workshop
This six-hour workshop is intended for executive management and product managers involved with performing portfolio management. It covers the portfolio management techniques, and, through a series of discussions, is used to define the specific portfolio management process and policies to be used by the company.

Pipeline Management Workshop
This six-hour workshop is intended for executive management, product managers and functional managers involved with pipeline management and resource planning. It covers the pipeline and resource management practices and, through a series of discussions, is used to define the specific pipeline and resource management process and policies to be used by the company.

PD-Trak™ Development Tools
This three-day workshop covers the methodology, process and use of the PD-Trak™ development tools: quality function deployment (QFD), target costing, design for assembly (DFA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and control plans. It uses a series of exercises to teach participants the methodology and specific PD-Trak™ tools. More in-depth training in QFD, DFA and target costing is provided in the following workshops.

Design for Manufacturability/Assembly Workshop
This three-day workshop is oriented to development personnel. The workshop includes exercises to develop practical DFMA knowledge and skills. The third day can be used to analyze either existing company products or products under development using the PD-Trak™ DFA assessment methodology.

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) Workshop
This is a three-day hands-on workshop. Workshop exercises utilizing actual product hardware are used extensively to develop a practical understanding of how to apply QFD to the development process using the QFD software from PD-Trak™. Part of the third day is used to transition from the classroom to the workplace using QFD with your own products.

Target Costing Workshop
This is a three-day workshop for management and development personnel responsible for establishing and using a target costing process. It addresses establishing a target price, determining the target cost, tracking achievement of the target cost, use of product cost models to support decision-making, and design-to-cost techniques to achieve cost reduction. It also presents how to use the PD-Trak™ target costing tools to support a target costing process.

Team/Project Launch with PD-Trak™ Workshop
This two-day workshop is designed for new or existing teams responsible for product development. Its objective is to improve team dynamics; accelerate the stages of growth toward a high performing team; and develop an understanding of the team's responsibilities, plans and team interfaces with the rest of the enterprise. The workshop combines teambuilding exercises (meeting skills, communication skills, personality styles), planning exercises focused at the details of the team function (roles and relationships, team inputs/outputs, team charter, team deliverables and schedules), and project initiation with PD-Trak™.
